Sidney Hartwig
Sidney Hartwig, Intern
Hello, I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master’s student at Grand Canyon University and am currently working through my practicum at Dragonfly Counseling under Dr. Andrea Charles. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development with a certificate in Adolescent Development from Washington State University. I have served the Lewis Clark Valley in various capacities, all serving children and young adults in the mental health and developmental disabilities field. Most recently, I worked as a behavior intervention specialist at Jenifer Middle School.
I believe counseling is a space where individuals should feel safe to embrace their strengths and create goals that improve their quality of life. I want my clients to feel confident in exploring who they are and how they want to carry themselves in the world. Working with teens and young adults has been my greatest career joy, and I look forward to continuing to help young people as a counseling practicum student. I am interested in helping my clients develop mindfulness strategies, manage anxiety, and particularly supporting queer clients.
When I’m not in the office, I enjoy making art, spending time outdoors, and spoiling my cat, Ruth.
